Olly Burford Before taking the role as the employability teacher at the Leicester Centre, I had worked with disaffected and excluded students in the city for over 10 years. Although I really enjoyed this position, I felt that we were only making a minor impact on young people's lives rather than empowering them to make major positive life changes. When I had my interview, I was immediately impressed by the emphasis there was at TwentyTwenty not only helping young people academically but also giving them the support, skills and belief that they can change their own lives for the better. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a part of TwentyTwenty. I have had many varying jobs in my illustrious career from working as a bin man, to running my own design company for 2 years. This means I have a lot of experience to pull on, in a variety of fields, as well as a lot of humorous stories which I am always ready to share with my students and colleagues. I really enjoy working with young people because they are always intriguing, and have new ideas and energy. I especially enjoy watching their realisation that they are better, quicker thinking and stronger than they believed they were when we first met. I passionately work with all the amazing staff at Twenty Twenty, to positively benefit as many young people as possible, both educationally and emotionally.
