Kay Bennett I’ve always loved helping to change people’s lives for the better, whether it be having an ear to bend, helping them apply for a job or even just pointing them in the right direction. There is nothing more rewarding than helping to move someone forward in life regardless of how big or small the step they have taken. Having gone down a rocky road in the past myself I feel I can use what I’ve learnt along the way to now be able to support young people to make the most of their lives and to try to encourage and empower them to be able to progress and move forward in life. Having joined TwentyTwenty in 2013, I can safely say that each and every member of staff is on board to support the students and the students are the reason why they get up in the morning. Since starting work with TwentyTwenty I have been a teacher in the Leicester centre and then I was promoted to Centre Manager in Derby where myself and my team have managed to set up a successful, thriving centre! I still love what I do just as much as I did when I first joined. Outside of work the main thing that takes up most of my time is maintaining and restoring decommissioned aircraft which I have got the students involved with numerous times. Nothing beats opening the young people’s eyes to new experiences that they would never have considered doing before!
