Prior to coming to TwentyTwenty, I worked for two years as an English teacher in a deprived area of Leicester. The school had a high number of disadvantaged students and I felt compelled to support them beyond the classroom. Unfortunately, my role as a teacher limited me somewhat in offering the holistic support I felt they needed, and so after completing my NQT year, I went in search of a position where I could support young people in a more meaningful way. I am now super excited to get stuck into my role as a Journey to Work Coach and work with the brilliant young people in the Derby centre.

I am a creative soul, and I love looking at and creating art. As an English teacher, I love reading fiction, and dream of writing my own novel for young people one day. My greatest hobby however is travel, and I have spent time teaching in Thailand and backpacking through Asia. I believe we learn so much through experiencing different cultures and languages, and importantly, that we are all not as different as we think. I also LOVE trying all the new foods!
