After a strategic management role at the Housing Corporation, John set up and ran a local charity, did an MBA and worked as a freelance consultant, delivering client-focused business improvement projects in the public sector, manufacturing, retail and financial services. Latterly, at the Audit Commission John had a high profile role working with public services challenging the effectiveness £4bn annual investment on behalf of local communities. This meant using assessment and media skills, managing multi-disciplinary teams and introducing significant internal organizational change.
